I\'m looking for more cost effect boat parts

Hi, I have a Volvo Penta engine AQ 174A, and am looking for an alternative supplier of basic maintenance parts other than the very expensive Volvo Penta suppliers. Does anyone have any positive suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Or do you mean Keypart?

www.keypart.com, tel 01923 221490. Though I've found DB Marine (VP agents) to be almost as competitive on most service items this winter. Maybe VP have lowered their prices or Keypart have increased theirs, but I've not found much in it.

What are you actually looking for Peter?

Fan belts, filters and such can easily be obtained from you local auto parts dealer, oil seals, bearings and so forth are obtained fron specialist suppliers. Just spend a few minutes with the yellow pages and cut the costs by 2/3rds!

Hi, thanks for the tip - mainly looking for oil filter, fuel filter, fan belt, points, plugs and a few general spares like that. I was going to try the auto trade for some of these bits but then had second thoughts as the block is American - GMC V6, guessed they wouldn't stock them. Any further tips greatly received.
