I\'m looking for a hat!
Does anyone know of anywhere I can buy a canvas yachting cap to rplace my much-loved specimen, bought years ago, paint-splattered, grubby, but EXACTLY right for my kind of sailing?
The sort of hat I mean is NOT a baseball cap, more like a breton, but with a peak stiffened only by stitching, meaning it can be rolled up and stuffed into a pocket. Mine also had a very useful adjuster at the back which was more or less invisible and did NOT leave room for draughts OR ponytails!!! The material was proper heavy-duty blue canvas (before fading that is!). From photographs, the one wore by the late Des Sleightholme looked very similar.
There used to be a guy up the East Coast making them, may still be, but I've lost the number. Can any one help, or, alternatively WHO'S NICKED MINE?
