I\'m finally a crusty old sea dog again!
( note to HLB - here is basic text, please convert into side splitting epic adventure! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif)
My boat's finally back in the water for the first time since July!!
Brilliant day out, though much delayed cos M3 was shut in both directions!! due to accident (sounds like a bunch of bikers were racing in early hours of morning, so they kept the motorway closed while they investigated)
Drove to Lymington first to drop car off, meet Jon Bailey, and then onto Northney Marina, Hayling Island
Set of from Northney (where sales guy very concerned and asked if we thought we should be going out as it was blowing up - it didn't get beyond F2 all day!!) Then the trek down to Sparkes Marina to pick up petrol.
Out of Chichester Bar with hardly a wave in sight, never mind any big ones! Then past Portsmouth, and into the Solent, and back to Lymington.
Drove Jon back to Northney to pick up his car, then off home, with big grin on my face.
A few raggies out, a few more powerboats, the usual ferries, and not too cold.Hardly any waves other than the ones we got from other boaters.
Strewth it was wonderful to get back on the boat. Think I'll go out again tomorrow /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
Thanks to Jon for taking suicide jockey seat, and for hanging around for hours, while I navigated all over south england trying to find a road that wasn't gridlocked after M3 closure
