I\'m back!!

Bloody comfuser virus! Nice new puter put that right. Also boat back in water today, new 4 blade prop which I was told would give me an extra knot at cruising speed. Well they were wrong! More like an extra 3-4 kts which at my cruising speed is an increase of almost 50%. Will be giving muckyfarter pillock a run for his money now!!

ljs How did you calculate what prop would give more speed without altering max rpm, I have read you can do harm to the engine if under or over pitched, or did you simply change from 3 to 4 blade?

Yes changed from 3 to 4 blade, I didn't/can't do the calcs, left that to the experts who predicted an extra knot at cruising revs. Glad to report they were wrong and I'm definitely not complaining!!!

Max RPM is down by about 100, but as I almost never run at full chat then I'm not bothered, particularly as at 2100 rpm (old cruising revs) I'm now going faster than old top speed!

gosh john that is quite an improvement, though hlb always says you can actually go faster in your boat than you do.

we are going boating tonight on my boat, can't go yet as having the house re-decorated and can't close the windows (or they will be shut for the next 4 years !) until they dry.

its a ditch crawlers rally at glasson dock, boats been there since we took it down the locks just before last weekend. Got a nice sheltered mooring in the basin,
hlb is going to row across anything heavy (like our drink for the night) in his old dinghy, as we are a bit far away from the markee. As tom night is bring yer own.

I'm sure there will be more on here about this extremely exciting event, hlb's already done "where's this" was guessed correctly in about 5 mins.

Anyway John bet you are glad to have your boat back in the water, have a nice/hope you had a nice weekend
