Anyone suggest a paper chart for the mast up inland route from Ijmuiden to Rotterdam please? I have got the pilot book for route but struggling with which is best chart for the trip. Plan is Lowestoft to Ijmuiden then canals to Rotterdam avoiding Amsterdam.
Thanks.
Neil

The best paper 'chart' for the Staande Mastroute is available as a largish booklet at most chandleries or ANWB shops in Holland. If you arrive at IJmuiden the Seaport marina may sell them.
Or buy online here
https://www.bookharbour.com/anwb-wateratlas-staande-mastroute

This book has all the charts/info you need (indeed, if that is your 'Pilot book' there is no need for anything else IMO).

Failing that you can download an app that has the charts on them - but I have not used this app myself.

Finally, the CA have produced their own version of the Stand Mast booklet
https://www.theca.org.uk/node/39340
But it does not contain the comprehensive chart element of the Dutch version - it is just a guide.

Thanks Tradewinds. I have the app and also Inland Waterways of the Netherlands guide. Just prefer a paper chart also( bit old fashioned). The first link looks like what I need.

Paper charts are not really practical for canal sailing. I think you are covered now, but if you want to go all-in on canal sailing I recommend https://www.pcnavigo.com/, which is canal sailing's answer to Google Maps navigation.

When you get to Rotterdam I recommend Rotterdam City Marina (now actually renamed Rotterdam Marina, also sometimes referred to as Binnenhaven). It's a good marina with lots of liveaboards (I'm one), good facilities, calm water and always space for visitors. VHF 20 to open the bridge.

Fair winds and enjoy your trip here.

p.s. Why standing mast route if you are in a motor boat?

Thanks Rolf. Just like to have a paper chart/map available. Boat just over 5 metres air draft so seemed safer bet following standing mast route. City Marina sounds good.
