This weekend the overloaded public slip in Pwllheli was congested with loads of big ribs (20ft plus, 200hp engines) they cruised up and down, some slow, some fast, (why is it that the tossers who break the speed limits have no necks, red faces and shaven heads?)
Later on saw them out by the St Tuds islands, must have been about 25 of them, making lots of noise etc, dont know what they were upto.
Any way come back to the harbour after a super hot day and there they all are, queuing up to get back on their trailers. the tide was right out and they were blocking the way to my berth.
the tide has just turned so have got it up my chuff and once i start to commit have to keep going, narrow bit etc, cant get to close to the beach.
gentle ahoy to the no neck blocking my way and all we get back is a shrug and so what, swmbo has to start explaining to no neck and his totty that we cant go outside him because of depth etc.
By this time i had decided that i would have to shoulder him out of the way, he finally moved, his prop wash started to push me towards the trots and i had to accelerate to get some rudder wash etc, anyway it all worked out.
Near by is a pontoon to the boatyard where my binlids had left their 10ft rib while we went out (we pay the yard to use their slip, moor on the pontoon and park the rib during the summer.
There is big signs everywhere saying for use of customers only), another no neck was undoing it and moving it, i got in my dinghy and went to challenge him.
He had wrapped a ski line thru my fabric handles, he had lost my extension to my painter and had generally got it all in a knotted mess. i was furious and let him know and told him in no uncertain terms to put my boat back.
He did eventually but was full of it, sarfener he was, couldnt see what was wrong etc etc totally couldnt give a [--word removed--], he wanted the space and couldnt care less.
Turned out there had been some sort of rally with peeps from all over the country.
Question, am i a cranky old sod or should we just roll over and let people like this walk all over us?
