I changed the coolant in my 4150 on Friday, when refitting the H.E filler cap the whole assembly turned as i tightened the cap :disgust::disgust:
I phoned Peachment & it was confirmed this brass housing is just bonded into the aluminium housing, & mine had failed.
i cleaned mating surfaced & rebonded with Bison epoxy metal, & left overnight to cure. topped up the coolant & run the engine.
This need checking on all engines
i was lucky to be in a marina berth when mine failed, @ 1400 hrs of use.
The engine has been faultless in the 13 yrs since i installed it ( apart from damn alternator belt req frequent adjustment ) i have only ever changed had the exhaust elbow in that time .
