If it floats and its for sale, I\'ve seen it!!!!!!
Remember me, the converted raggie?
I've been off cruising for the last five weeks, and what fantastic weather! Albeit at 5 knots and sometimes as much as 6 knots!!!!!!
With an offer on my yacht I’m ready to make the change. I’m really pleased that I am not the only one to be in a dilemma about Fly bridge or sports boat Graham W. I haven’t got an answer yet but after watching many on Torquay Marina fiddle around with zips every day, and problems storing the plastic and canvas, I guess I’m in favour of fly bridge boats.
Given my budget of £130k to £140k there is a vast selection of older boats to choose from, yet another dilemma! Do I go for the new Sealine F34 or and older 38 to 40 footer?
I looked into Kim’s suggestion of the Sealine 410 with p63s but I didn’t like the aft cockpit and the loss of patio space for the plant pots and spare slippers.
With out any doubt I just love Moose’s Fairline Phantom 37, 38 or even a 40 but they are just a snippet over my budget. I haven’t seen one for sale under £140k. May be Moose will sell me his as I hear he has blown half his electrics up!
So this leaves me putting an offer on a Sealine 360 Statesman with KAD44s. And at 800 hrs I’m a little apprehensive about major engine rebuilds. However before I part with my money I’m off to the boat show to see what else I can get for my £130K.
Oh yes, one more thing troubling me. If I sell my yacht, I have to give up my river mooring in the most beautiful part of Cornwall that costs £550 per year. To change to power, mooring fees jump to £4000 per year. Would you give the mooring up to change to power?
