I w2as nearly chuffed at having got to the bottom without any wrangling.

Quite, and I enjoyed your tongue in cheek questions - until people started getting shirty about the whole business.

We fly a Blue Ensign - because I happen to be a member of the RNSA. I am amazed at the inverse snobbery from some people both on the forum and on the water. Does it really matter? Lots of clubs have the ability to give permits to wear defaced blue or undefaced blue. So what.

We wave to everyone - and I make a special point of waving to mobo's who you often see visibly startled at the sight of a friendly wave from a flappy white sails boat.

As far as seamanship goes, I see people flying the blue mucking up - and I see people flying red ensigns mucking up. The sea doesn't care and is a great leveller.

I can't get this picture out of my mind of a guy wearing a rather skimpy naval style of uniform made out of dark blue bunting with a toggle dangling from the fly. Said person is holding a short baton sized staff and looking at it quizically.

You appear to be suffering the after effects of a blow to the head. I suggest a large scotch and two Mogadon.


BTW the new ensign arrived today. Very nice, and very 'normous.

No Will, its not bigger than yours, but has a nice feel to it.
I also bought a new Red in the same size, to wear in Foreign waters, as proscribed. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
The burgee is also very nice quality.
