Hi All,

Can someone help in identifying this (hopefully attached) model of Rotostay which I believe is original to my 1980's Moody 36?IMAG0390f.jpgIMAG0391f.jpg

I would like to know the model as I'm dropping the mast for re-rigging and need to research the best way to dismantle the drum / forestay assembly. Any tips to this regard would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,
Duncan

Not Rotostay Furler but SCRR

So after spending hours searching the net I came across this ybw thread which shows an identical furler!
http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?234884-Roller-furler-question/page2

It is now evident that my furler is not a Rotostay after all but an SCRR - South Coast Rod Rigging Furler.

It also seems that these do not have a conventional wire forestay but a solid rod forestay!

Since i'm aiming to renew the rigging I am now lost as to whether I need to renew the rod forestay? If so I'm assuming I should go like for like?

Finally if anyone has experience on these ancient beasts I would really appreciate any hints on how to dismantle it. It is still functioning perfectly however I do need the peace of mind that everything inside is reliable.

Regards,

Duncan
