Anyone able to identify the manufacturer/model number of the depth transducer on attached photo? The instument head is missing, so would like to obtain one that will work with this transducer.
I thought it looked like the one used by Nasa, but beware, this is based on a ten year old memory. It may help to consider what marks were left by the head unit, too, e.g. the Nasa unit may have been rectangular rather than square. Either way, most older units used 150kHz transducers, so it should work with anything listed on the airmar database as using that frequency. May be best to borrow a unit to try it out before investing.
Some years ago we fitted a Nasa and coupled it to the existing transducer, because it was glassed into the forefoot - the perfect position. As this one is fitted internally in a glassed in tube, it would be no great hardship to fit the one supplied with your new instrument, assuming it doesn't like the existing one.
Just looked at nasamarine.com - it looks like one of theirs.
misunderstood your question, you should be able to get either a nasa stingray neon whizzer type depth sounder, or a nasa clipper depth, have a look on the website.
There are plenty on ebay..if you dont want to buy new.
