Identify an old Wherry

I am trying to identify a working wherry under sail from an old photo. No name visible, no landmarks whatsoever but there is a clear image of the house or owner's pennant.

Anyone know of a resource to identify wherry house flags and perhaps the hulls they owned?

I'd post pics straight if I could figure out how!

Pennant is dark, square ended and headed with a light coloured square on which is a broad dark ring within which is a dark cross similar to a teutonic cross.

Also museums might help. Eg the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, or museums in Norfolk

Roy Clark's book, mentioned above, does have a list of wherries at the end. Unfortunately it doesn't have any information about owners' pennants, or 'Jenny Morgans' as they became known. I have another book somewhere by Bob Malster, called 'Wherries and waterways', I think. I'll have a look for that.

The only thing one can definitely say is that your wherry is not the 'Albion', as she was the only carvel-built wherry and yours is obviously clinker.

Not strictly true - over45yrs ago I had a carvel built pleasure wherry which I bought cheaply from the saltings at Pin Mill with the intention of turning it into a houseboat. Had it towed and and put in a floating dry dock and did some repairs, mainly replacing some planking. Unfortunately we ran out of money so had to sell. It was called Golden Hind and was from the Broads, had some lovely internal fittings and woodwork but no idea what became of her. Anybody know where she is now?
