hi yotties,

looking at a sailing dingy (please don't tel my stinky mates!)

but don't know what it is...

it's a dory type hull (cathederal?) has moulded inner (seating etc), ally mast, boom etc. has transome for outboard (and a GRP moulded steeting console).

MRA 305?? something like that any one know, so as i can search for simmilar?

cheers, steve.

Not as far as I know but, there again, I don't know what a steeting console is either so don't pay any attention to me.

it's got sails, but i've not had a good look. it looks like a small tender, although it was fitted with a 45 hp outboard!

that by the way was the standard fitment when new, now has a more reasonable 15 hp johnson. it has a small centre board, and proper rudder, looks like it would be a fast sailing boat, as i said the isentifying marks are stickers on the side, MSA 305 or simmilar... i'm sure about the 305 bit but the letters illude me.

the controls for the outboard are/were mounted forward near the thwart/seat, and steering mounted on a fibreglass console.

it's probably 10 or so years old, but in really good condition, i just wanted to know what it's worth.

cheers, steve.

Is it a Tabur Yak with sailing gear? - That had a 'catamaran' hull and could be fitted with a dagger board, rudder and sails. Had an inner skin and a thwart which could be fitted in sevearl positions. The standard dinghy is still available. About 10' 6"long x 4' 6" wide. Made of a plastic ABS - not grp.

No. It means the the mast and sails are to make it pretty as the likelihood it will sail well is pretty low.

Re: identify a sailing dinghy?

very simmilar but much shallower draught (sp?).. iv'e tried to search on the net using the correct markings... but nothing..

so, i'm going to take her sailing... see what she's like, i tend to think that as an out board engined tender she'd be good, but i'm not convinced that with a sail she'll be of any use.

anyway, thanks for all your help.

steve.
