Identification of old boat

Hi, I am trying to identifiy where this picture was taken. You can see a boat, and I think it may be from the far east, but am not sure. I am hoping you experts will be able to help!! I think the photo was taken in 1945.

it's a form of quadrilateral sprit rig.

Tony Marchaj's Sail Performance has a few pics, but not much in the way of identifying where they come from.

The Dhow by Clifford W Hawkins shows 30 different sail configurations ....but not the one in the photo. Are there other beached boats to the left......can anyone zoom in past the man at the helm? This boat appears to have a single out rigger ...... I have seen this set up used in Goa and Kerala by local fishermen.
