Can anybody help me to identifed a bakdekker ?
She's been build in 1924 at "the Chester boat company" (n°652).
Her length is 36ft and her beam is 9ft.
Apparently she's a "DLS", but one of the previous owners screw the commemorative plate out of the cockpit, to keep it as a souvenir.
The belgian boat registration office can't give me any informations about previous owners because of a belgian privacy law !! And the "DLS" association need the original registration number, but this one does'nt appear anymore on the belgian registration papers, and I can't find any carved numbers on the deck beams. How can I find her registration number ? By sending a mail to the British maritime museum ? Does anybody know something about "the Chester boat company" ? I've find a boat, in the 1930 Lloyds register, that could match with her. The "Lady Clare 2". Same dimentions and build in 1923 by "the Chester boat company". Does anybody know this boat ?
"DLS" or not, I would like to give her a new life and save her from scrap. She's in poor condition and no much original is left. I join some pictures and a drawing of how she could have look like... and how she could look like again
Thanks for any help !
