ID My Boat

Hi everyone,

Posted this in the general forum then was told about this one. Hopefully I'm not upsetting anyone by posting it again.

Can anyone tell me anything about this boat?
Make, model, approximate age, bare weight etc.

Dimensions are 16' long, 7' wide (or maybe 6' 10")

The best suggestion so far is a Vanguard Thunderjet but that is two foot longer than ours.

Google images of "Dorsett Catalina" and you will see lots of boats almost exactly like yours! Two differences: (1) yours doesn't have the rubbing strake to the stern third of the hull (it may have been removed, check for evidence), and (2) your side window is a bit smaller but the sloping grp pillar separating it from your windscreen is wider. Maybe you have a precursor or a copy?

PS: Dorsett was a US boatbuilder in the 1950s and 60s so I guess the slightly longer Thunderjet with even longer side windows was either an import or a copy.
