OK all you computer geeks, what is an ICQ number.

I have a telephone number, a facsimile number, a National Insurance number and a mobile number but how do you know if you have an ICQ number?

Is it catching and what medication is there?

Cheers

John Dillon

And very good it is too! I chat regularly with a guy in Canada about our respective efforts at building steel boats. I went over there last week to give him a hand with his keel - all because of ICQ!

Thank you all for the answer to ICQ. I suppose it should have been obvious because CQ is radio operator speak for "I would like to communicate with you". It is a long time since I trained as a radio operator but I seem to remember CQ had a French conntion. CQ, CQ de and then the call sign of your station, de being radio operator speak for "from". Ah, happy days 73s de GM3YQK

Well done Mike (Field) you've just published enough information on a public forum for your identiy to be stolen. I tried to send you a private message but you're rejecting them. In case it's not too late - I stongly advise you to scramble the numbers, if you already have then I apologise for trying to teach my elders and betters how to suck eggs!
