Anyone considered or used one of these to perform the functions of the battery charger, solar charge controller and inverter on board? If nothing else its interesting..

The "single point of failure" issue worries me

Maybe combining the battery charger and the inverter makes some sense but I think Id keep the solar controller separate .

I was thinking it would be good to have the solar and battery chargers combined, depending on how "smart" the unit is. It would definitely be nice to have a single unit that could work out if there was enough solar yield to charge the batteries and keep the mains charger off, but to switch the mains charger on if the batteries were getting low and there was no worthwhile solar yield.

Combined mains chargers and inverters are old hat, Victron have been making them for yonks (amongst others).
