Hi

My new ICOM MA-510TR outputs AIS data via pins 7 (+ve NMEA) and 8 (-ve NMEA) to my plotter. They are the only pins used. It works fine.

My Yakker is powered from the battery (12V and GND connections) and also has AIS pin 7 to the Rx connection and AIS pin 8 to GND connection (so battery GND AND pin 8 to GND connection on Yakker) . It works fine.

BUT ... when I connect them both into 7 and 8 together only the plotter works and I no longer see any AIS sentences coming out from the Yakker to my tablet.

I thought NMEA could have several listeners. Am I wrong?

Will also contact Yakker but has anyone seen similar?

Are you not connecting two "talkers" or outputs to one " listener" the plotter input? Is the yakka a listener?

The AIS unit is the "talker" and the plotter and the Yakker are "listeners". The Yakker is connected via its "Rx" connection. It's true the Yakker then outputs a WiFi signal but as far as the AIS unit is concerned the Yakker is a 'listener".
