Icom M31

I've just purchased the Icom M31 handheld in the Uk but find that certain channels are not working on send or receive. THe most annoying one is CH80 which is the main reason for having a handheld when berthing in a marina. I've checked all the settings and changed from int to usa but no luck. any suggestions other than to return it to Icom?

Did you buy new?
It should have USA and International Marine channels built in - so sounds like you may have dodgy programmed one ... I believe an agent can reprogramme these (or get them reprogrammed ....)

How did you check it?

Just a thought, but you haven't been checking it against your fixed VHF have you? If so, Ch 80 will appear not to work because it uses different frequencies for send and receive - you can only test it against a shore station (eg marina).

What other ch are missing or not working?

If you have brought the unit outside of the UK it will not have M1 (37a) or M2 (P4) these are only in the UK models.

Re Ch80 PVB is spot on.
