Does anyone know if I will lose my MMSI number if I remove the radio for the winter,ie will I have to re-enter it on re-connecting? Looked in manual but cannoy see any reference.Thanks, Peter.

i think it stays in the radio it does on my nasa once in almost impossible to change.
if you isolate your electics when leaving the boat and its been ok,then you are doing nothing different by removing it

Once you put in your MMSI number that is it. The difficulty comes if you want to delete or change it for any reason. At that time you will have to return to manufacturer or distributor for them to remove the MMSI for you. It is not usually a user possible thing to do.

I also have an Icom DSC (M505) and find it an excellent piece of kit now a problem has been sorted with my aerial.

You should not loose the MMSI is taken out of the boat.
There is an internal memory battery that is there to store such things.

Only a worry is the set is very old and as it is a DSC set thin is not likely.
