I found the drain on mine a bit slow, I now use a wine makers siphon pipe and its empty in seconds.
 
Ahhh 'Phoebe'. I love Phoebe! She's a lovely looking boat. Often see you coming in and out...now I know who I'm waving at Stuart, I'll make sure I say hi properly when I walk past.

I <think> it's a bit of a bargain as it's new/unused, but I couldn't find a UK price online in time to know for sure. Anyone who knows anything about them, do jump in ! All I have to do now is decide where to fit it… (unless others think it should go straight back on eBay :nonchalance:

I totally don't want to rain on your parade Prhperio and I wish you well with it :D. Well, I hope it makes ice for you! I had that model on Match 1 but firmly de-specified it on Match 2 ...! It might be ok though - some people do get them to work and mine did work a bit, now and again, well once.
 
Well, the ice maker was a huge success (with the exception of the grumpy Cornishman next door who moaned EVERY time the ice clunked into the basket. Ah well...one has to make allowances I s'pose...he can't help being Cornish ;):p ). We used the tank water and lived so that's good too. We kept it in the saloon where it's cooler. Kept us in ice all weekend. Dead chuffed :D

I think you will find, as I pointed out Saturday, that the ice clunking into the basket wasn't actually my issue. It was the fact you excitedly shouted out "ice" every time it happened followed by vigorous shaking of the tray to see how many cubes there were.

And when you thought it would be a great idea to using the ice production to control colour changing under-water lights...

Thanks for the heads up (I think<g>!)

Bu**er twice over. Firstly, perhaps it's unused because it doesn't work and secondly I missed your Match2 build thread originally (only got into the forum seriously last year) and have been reading it over the last few evenings. If only I'd got a bit further through I imagine I would have been steered off this but of kit… Ah well, we live and learn. I'll rig it up at home first and if it doesn't do the business at least it will save me having to find somewhere to fit it on board :) And you did give me a smile with your gentle let down of " mine did work a bit, now and again, well once "
 
What happened was it worked at first, then when turned off and shaken around it needed "priming" the next time I wanted to use it. This meant filling a cup and filling the ice mould, manually. All in the instructions. Then it got into strange habit of taking water but not closing it's solenoid valve (I guess) so it emptied my entire water tank overnight. Of course, it has a plumbed in drain so you do not see this happening. Finally, the ice "cubes" are actually tubes with very thin walls, and to release them from the mould it has to melt the surface of them, not sure how, but that wastes some ice. If you fill your glass the actual ice volume is tiny. Anyway the whole mechanics of the thing drive you nuts after a while! Good luck though and it might be ok - I lost patience with it a bit :D

Anyway, I might not get it at all…. I've just had a request from the seller to pay by transfer to his bank account as he's been stiffed by a double glassing company. His feedback is good and I checked the sort code and it's not the National Bank of Nigeria so I'm probably ok. Due to pick it up on Sunday, we'll see! Lack of functionality may yet turn out to be a non-issue ;-)
I'm off back to the Mach2 build thread (on page 99 currently) with baited breath to see what you specced in the end.

PS Seriously though, thanks for the info, if I do get it I now know to test it thoroughly before I let the boat yard loose on installing it!

I specced a U line SP18. Had 3 before and they're very good. Comes in s/s finish despite only black/white listed on website. Makes solid D shaped ice cubes

Seriously, bench test it first, because there can be quite a lot of cabinet work installing one of these. Might be fine!
