I did! I actually took my boat out. She's been on the East coast tied to a Pontoon since March, and Saturday was the first time I got her out as I managed to secure two crew. Spent the night at Pagglesham, got well fed and well watered, then sailed back in the morning with all the raggy bits up. All my concerns and anxieties have vanished. Was so nice to be back on the water again.

On thing is, I really need to study day skipper again. I've totally forgotten half of it.

She's a cutey, but you can ditch the monkey.

Ps...please tell me that is NOT a fender I can see to port....

She is indeed, Italian, though the girlfriend of the person taking the picture. Excellent crew, did loads of washing up and helping out :)

Fender... ah, yes. No room in the lockers to put them. Teething issues. Bad form, I know.

Not a lot of leeway there.

No. That picture was taken on the Saturday when it was motor sailing with little wind. It was only on the Sunday it got fun, and I decided to get the genoa up as well. It's roller furling, but the furling gear is knackered so it needs to be used like a hanked on at the moment. Unfortunately, by Sunday, we'd killed all the phone batteries listening to music the night before.

If you look closely in that picture, there's a tail of a genoa sheet, which was sat on the deck all the way. It was most definitely not a seaman like state, but I don't much care as I'm just glad I got out for once. I was working flat out all day cleaning and whatnot to make her ready for sailing and "girl friendly". Next time will be better organised.

I forgot the chat about what not to put down the heads though. Big mistake. :(

Nah. Just saved your breath. You can say it as many times as you like for all the difference it makes

I know. I was just being soft after spending far too long tied to pontoons or in boat yards fixing things. I still very much dislike mooring her though, but I'll get used to it with some more trips.

Got another weekend jolly planned. I've made some crew upgrades, and now have two italians and a scouser. The scouser is an old mate who's done a fair bit of sailing, and the italians are... well, just bloody gorgeous. I quite like these big boats that can actually fit crew on them.
