but he didn't.
But a bloke still covered in glitter from the night before came and had a sniff around Asterie - had this funny scope thingy to check out the VHF/fridge interference troubles (he had to read the manual though).
Did some other bits too - even "swung" the electronic compass, tested the towing gen, made off a big electric cable with a proper connector and generally had a very nice time. Cheers mate.

Off sailing very soon.

I saw him sneaking out on his own boat as I was leaving - he's on E pontoon a few boats down from us. Wired our new windlass through bulkhead to the control box and ran the big cables back from control box to switch panel. Can't decide where to put the connector for the remote. Doesn't look tough enough (plastic) to go in anchor locker so might replace with waterproof mil connectors. Also, the footswitch looks very cheap and nasty so trying to find a better replacement for that also. There's always summat!

BTW, one thing we didn't do was measure the voltage drop twix battery and fridge. Must do as my fridge is similar and no such interference - I checked. At least we know it's not an antenna problem.

Tri-buckle looked good, see they've stopped making them (YM p51). Glitter mostly gone now, ta. Off sailing this coming weekend with missus. Enjoyable morning on Asterie, found the red lense paint if you want it.

Sorry about that !

You know what its like, got stuck into my jobs, even when they were done I had to keep an eye on SWMBO to make sure a good job was done polishing the topsides!

Poor thing though, she missed bottom step of the ladder, fell, knee came up like a fooball! Lucky she had nearly finished the polishing, only had to finish off about 25% on the Sunday.

I can see why you did not go to the drinks thing on Fri eve, come to think of it, you could have warned me! Escaped after we had drunk all their red!

Didn't know you were doin al that stuff I'd have given you a hand.
Yes please for the red paint.
Sailing pass issued for the weekend - probably with the Mrs so we may get to see how much faster Amaya is than Asterie.

I didn't realise you'd not been to a "drinks evening" before, tee hee, I'd have warned you - still, I can't say too much 'cause I'm hanging by a thread on a temp basis till we go.

Well we're dragging the hanging gardens of babylon with us so prob not much faster at the mo. Waiting for a haul out date soon.

I hadn't intended to get into the wiring but had a call as I was leaving suggesting that I may want to stay out to play a little longer -thus avoiding in-laws, costumes & props and yet more glitter.

Glad to say the production went really well in Basingstoke yesterday with the Haymarket theatre sold out matinee and evening. The mrs is now winding down from hurricane strength to her normal fresh breeze so wants to get out this weekend, if you want some video footage Asterie under sail this could be your chance!

Impostor!!!

I hailed him and asked if he was ETAP_Owner to which he said 'yes I am'. But then, if you were in an ETAP you would say that, wouldn't you-doh!

Yes, all the talk was 'boating' rather than sailing, you know what that means! Challenging rallies to Bembridge, if the weather is OK!
