hi all...I,ve just had last tuesday to friday at mercury (hamble) in rubbish weather (video to follow) and am now at home washing, cleaning and flushing (Thanks Mum) on the trailer in the garden in BRILLIANT N HOT SUNSHINE !!!! AAAAHHHHHHH !!!!!..........ive just started the engine (leg in a large tub) and noticed the hour meter in the tacho is throwing a wobberly and the "turning the key" warning buzzer is not working .....could this be serious, expensive, simple prob, loose wire etc etc...alternater seems to be charging ok (just under 14v) ANY thoughts comments ideas ALL greatfully recieved.....many thanks in advance

(Alternator "seems" to be charging. You need to know for certain. Its always useful to get one of these 12v State of Battery and Charging Meters as if you look at that it will tell you if your alternator is actually charging and if your battery is receiving it. The type I particually like is the type which plugs into a cigarette lighter socket and if your boat doesent have one you can get a socket with 2 leads coming off it with 2 clamps which clip on the battery lugs.
