Parked up in Newton Creek yesterday; all day breakfast cooking on the hob with appropriate aromas, decent air temp, all rather nice. Plenty of boats of all types, all save one flying the red ensign. Our white ensign neighbour was rafted to his buddy, the odd sailing craft weaving between us all, very tranquil. Then, the sound of a bugle became superimposed upon the breeze and to be quite frank it was breathtakingly good. Already idyllic moments made better and a decent range of tunes, too. Far from imperfect and so brief to be very far from imposing. He departed after a very short stay broadcasting a number of tunes en rte and whomever gave us such delight we thank you, white ensign, man. If anyone about these parishes :knows this chap: he's got a few more fans now!
