I scrubbed and soaked my main sail cover trying to remove horrible white seagull stains on the dark blue cover. Tried stain remover (I think it is, or like oxalic acid) no good. Then in desperation I tried caustic soda it seemed to remove the stain quite easily. Not so good at debulking the feces on the GRP but did remove the stain after scraping off the cabin top. Just a word of warning though caustic is very dangerous on skin and eyes. Use a nylon brush as it just eats animal bristle brushes. I tried yet again caustic on the anti fouling paint. No effect yet if it drops onto the trailer it immediately dissolves the silver paint. ol'will
