First of all I've got to start the whole sales process from scratch again, but I now have an excellent survey to back up the pitch thanks to my previous very unlucky buyer who I mentioned previously.
Anyway, on to happier thoughts!
I need something vaguely trailable for two trips a year, from the shed to the marina in the spring and back again to the shed in the autumn. That is my financial master plan!!
She must be fast enough to overcome Bristol channel tides so that means planing.
She must have four proper sized berths probably as two doubles and this is where the choice becomes more difficult. I love the look of the Regal 2565 but the bigger 2665 has a better bed layout.
I must admit I wasn't too happy about having no proper access to go forward for mooring and fender work but was prepared to compromise there.
Then I saw the Beneteau Ombrine which has a decent sized aft bed in a cabin with a door. Tight but still brilliant and just what I need.
It also has proper side decks and rails to allow normal movement forward.
It also looks more traditional than the US boats but with the same performance.
Seems to tick all the boxes, but of course I haven't seen one in the flesh as yet!
No point in torturing myself if I've got no bag of cash to take with me!
