Hardly a chance

But you could call the HM and see if the various visitors pontoons are pre-booked or are 1st come 1st served. Otherwise Newport (if you can dry out alongside)

Re: Hardly a chance

If you get there early enough try the visitor moorings off the UKSA - think the HM has them on 1st come first served. HM can usually squeeze you in somewhere even if it means the water taxi ashore with the drunks.

You think it's going to take an overnight trip to get from Chi to Cowes? What route were you thinking of?

Seriously - I am told, and my own experience backs this up, that Cowes never gets full. Either raft up on the Harbour Master's pontoons (e.g. opposite UKSA) or go further up the river. The down side is that these have no access to the shore, so it is WaterTaxi time.

Of course if you can get there early enough to be in before the races have finished then there will be no shortage of space

They'll always squeeze one extra on the raft at Cowes Yacht Haven (W.Cowes) BUT watch the price! I think one our boat partners took his teenage kids there last year & our 33' boat cost £65 overnight- but that did include tickets to the onshore festivities music and similar entertainment and these were sold by his teenage son to a group of local youngsters who hang around outside hoping for just such a chance.
