My old man was clearing out something or other and out popped this:

It's complete with including the first Safety Check Card.

What I have found interesting is how some things have changed while others remain the same.

You don't see adverts like this too often these days..

Just thought that some of you would remember this - I can't as naturally I am too young /forums/images/icons/smile.gif.

I think that the thought process must've been:
1. 3/6 =17.5p
2. 0.5 p no longer legal tender
3. round to 18.5p

Hang on to it, it might come in useful.

Clearing out some old papers last year, I came across an old catalogue from Southampton Boat Show. Just for fun, I took it to the organisers to complain about the massive increase in entry and show guide prices. I can't remember last years prices, but the one I had cost me 30p, with show entry at 50p (and free for OAPs). They couldn't do enything about entry, but they did give me a free guide. And I had a promise that if I took that one back after a similar time, they'd give me another free one. Let's see, 1976 to 2003 is 27 years, so now I've only got to wait till 2030!
