Ebb and flow twice a day of 10 miles each way, that's 40 miles a day. Up to 3kts at peak.


Why, then, does my clever antifouling allow barnacles and weed anywhere near my underwater hull ?

Clever chaps, barnacles.

On our East Coast mooring the trouble was suspended matter in the water that stuck to the A/F and covered it within a few weeks.

So your antifouling hasn't worked, that's a bit of shame after all the work applying it, did you keep the receipt for the paint? and have you asked for your money back because the product didn't work.

Previous complaint to International saw a sales rep visit to see the boat stern drive with green weed all over the fresh Trilux 33 paint. The reps solution was to give me another 2.5L tin of the stuff that had failed????? oh well it was something.

Another complaint 3 years ago to Seajet seemed to be more effective but then the e-mails dried up when I pressed home the question of what they were going to do about it after supplying evidence of the tins numbers.

The whole af thing is one giant con, doesn’t seem to matter how much you spend on it. There’s nothing that they can put in it that works so either keep the boat moving or keep taking it out and blasting it.
The only odd thing we noticed over the years was that hull fouling in a stagnant marina was far les than on a tidal flow.mooring
