Just had my first Christmas on the boat - it was brilliant!! BUT the boat came out this morning and I'm truly fed up about it. I hate it when it's out of the water and don't think even a new pair of shoes would cheer me up - still, there's the Boat Show to look forward to.

BTW - Happy New Year eveyone xxxxxxxxxx

Cheer up, it might only have just come out but the new season is only a few months away, think of all the good weather to come, all the shoes you'll need to enjoy it, all those places to be visited.

Start making plans now, don't sit there and mope!!

You really picked the good weather for Christmas on board, those witches spells must work! Did you go anywhere?

Happy New Year.

Didn't go out on our boat cos of a buggered cutlass (sp?) bearing - which is one of the reasons it's out, sounds like a bucket of bolts! but went out for a morning's thrash about on Chrispy's Humber which was great ...and we trawled around the fleshpots of Brighton

Glad to see that you are back. You've been very quiet over the festive season (on the forums that is). I've missed you. How about some funny stories from the 'brilliant' time you have just had. Or will that give you a headache? I like the new piccy. Now that I've been let in on the secret, I keep a regular watch.

Re: I need cheering up...Even more

We managed a couple of days on the boat over New Year in glorious sunshine......only I managed to back the boat into a mooring pile in the Hamble thanks to a combination of tide, setting sun, an aft deck full of crew and a smidgeon of alcohol (whoops, should'nt have said that). So I've started 2002 with bang, literally, and a £5k bill. SWMBO wont get any new shoes this year - count yourself lucky!

Sorry to hear that Mike. Apparantly some idiots drove my boat around the coast with the power steering buggered and have screwed the gimble (eh?!) bearing and gaitor as well as destroying the steering ram. So I'll join you in the new year lighter by a large chunk of holding folding. Allthough nowhere near the £5K mark.

You're right Arthur, it will, but not the injured pride!

Barry, your damage was caused as a result of an heroic expedition whereas mine was due to crass stupidity
