It's been over a month since I've been afloat for various reasons. This weekend it's dad's 80th.

To cap it all (non-boaty) I was robbed of a notebook PC yesterday by a cunning pair of shisters and spent today giving statements, scenes of crime visit and filling in the inevitable work reports on the loss, including how I left the door of the office open whilst assisting a lady outside apparently in distress. Plonker!

Thankfully there's more than one side to human nature. Looking forward to a sail weekend of 12th - anyone about?

Tom

Well, thats a real bind - I would dread losing my 'active' laptop - it usually takes me close to a month to be confident I have succesfully moved everything when I upgrade a machine. As I speak, I've started a backup ...

Yes, had mine nicked whilst doing an exhibition in Earls Court. Bloody nightmare! It's worth everybody knowing that Notebook theft is more organised than you would think. Regular "Notebook Gangs" work Earls Court etc. Office buildings too, it would seem.

Nobody buy a "cheap" Notebook. Good luck Tom.

Re: For sale

Ho ho!

Just realised that there was a suspicious character came in a couple of weeks ago - guess it was the boyfriend casing the place. New coded locks being fitted, and I'm to get a security audit - joy!

At least it wasn't my personal machine so i don't have to worry about backup.
