Having just started yachting in earnest, I was told to get the correct underwear for a recent Two day sail, thermals were of course the order of the day.
I have only just come across this videa , as a novice I ask what would be the correct underwear for such an occasion. My thoughts are leading toward Teflon.

Polythene. Definitely, as the water will just drip off it. Acvtually, this could be vacuumed down so it fits properly, then no water would get in at all.

I feel that I must be slightly out of kilter with reality..... as that actually looks fun!

i'm sure it'd be miserable as hell... cold, permanently wet, tired, no end in sight..... but wouldn't you just like to try it a little bit? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It often is/was fun - it's the waiting for action that is torture. Never knowing when you will have to go to the pointy end - watching the wind speed creeping towards the "change down" numbers.

And of course it's even more fun when it's dark!

exactly - and when your bunk, sleeping bag and all other clothing are not just damp, but soaking wet ....

I think I've got to the age where it's fun, providing it's dry down below - to see solid water ignore the (closed) hatch cover and slosh all over everything - hmm...
