Sorry if anyone is getting fed up hearing about me and my boat, but right now I'm like a kid with a new toy /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif and after some help from Jim and Neil (thanks both, very very much appreciated) I have an erected mast and she now has the look of a proper sailing boat /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif pity I need to drop the mast again to get past bridges and a power line /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Thanks guys, I have learned a hell of a lot and feel loads more confidence in dealing with my erection problem /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'll post more pictures if people want to see them ? but maybe better when YBW get the forum stabilised /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

You are a kid with a new toy so enjoy it. Like other things /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif the first time is exciting but not necessarily the best /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Good stuff so far. The really exciting/scary bit is yet to come......

Of course, you will need to lay your priapism horizontal to re-rivet the spreaders and a dd a topping lift, and ooh, dont forget to put the kicker fitting in the base of the mast before re-erection.
Nav light in the post soon, also a length of topping lift I have laying around. Will be going to the box of 20-22ft boat shackles on Friday.
Will post on RSA forum to see if anyone has a bit of Genoa track laying around, can you photograph the track and the cars and take a few dimensions please?
Also, i will look for a suitable couple of blocks for the Kicker, and a few jamming cleats for the mainsheet traveller.

Trailer got home just fine, hit 85 at one point, but got followed by the same Cops car first going into Bourne, then he came out behind me again and followed me to the next town. No probs, but the other cracked wheelarch destroyed itself on the M11.
Got home at 01.50 after dropping off the trailer to Rice & Cole.

Its all looking good Dave, and keep posting the photos.

Don't I know it, Louise is talking about heading out this weekend

Fingers crossed this post makes it past the time warp that seems to have YBW in its grip /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Neil, any indication from Dan how long this is going to carry on ? not keen on contacting him, I think he has enough to deal with without me shouting at him /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

How fast ? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif you're a braver man than me /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the reminders, there's a lot of info buzzing around between these ears at the moment so I needed them and any others that spring to mind

Pic of the genoa track shows it's about 15" long

Trailer011.jpg

About 1" wide, but I was never any good at guessing inches /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the other stuff too, quick reminder please, I have plenty of good rivets but what would be best for the spreader ?

I'll do a slide show of the evening later on, when I have more time, but that nice man from the EA came a knocking this morning /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif it seems I need to pay the princely sum of £2-00 to keep her where she is for a while /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Think I can afford mooring fees after all /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Dirty bugger /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Starting to look like a proper boat.

Whatever next? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Sails? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Talking of your "Rather Impressive Erection", I think that as it is sort of pointy at both ends you need to paint it a light blue then rename her "Viagra"! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

T'would cost a few more pennies that sixpence though. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Trust you intend to keep it up for more than a night? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Well if you can't boast about a boat on a yachting forum, where can you.

I don't mind looking at your pics (as long as you are behind the camera, not in front) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I suppose you will be respecting the old tradition and placing a silver coin (a sixpence of course!) when you get to the final erection?
Boat looks super - see her in Oostende next year?

With an electricity overhead cable to the left, and a bridge to the right, I have about 100M of river to play in before things go bump /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif but it's staying up for now /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I'll stick some more proper ones on later, but I'm getting funny looks from passers by as it is, wonder why /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

It just so happens, that as soon as I told my mother what the name was, she was shocked because years ago she saved two sixpenny bits and didn't know why. One is to go under the mast, the other will be fitted below the tiiller /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Oostende ?, it is my hope that we will be making the trip next year, yes indeed /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif anything for some more Duval /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

With the angle that ramp goes to at low tide it's best to go before going down it, hard work getting up it when you need a pee /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and I wouldn't want to be caught doing it over the side, would I /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Hi Dave. Well now we know what the two blocks on the fore deck are for, never thought of the hook /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The placing of the radar looks good may be a little higher would get it above your heads, all that RF and stuff.
/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
Cheers David.
