I have a auxillery outboard (3.5hp mariner 4stroke) wont start after month storage?

I took the auxillery off my big boat and kept inside my home so I can use on a smaller boat in winter. how ever tried to fire her up to day and no luck, It turns over etc had it going for 30 secs then went off..
Are engines picky when they have been stored for a month?
Is it worth replacing spark plug or the like? or maybe leave it for the next service in march?

Strip and clean the carb
Put a new plug in, for what they cost!
It will be fine then

Now is the time to service an outboard. Then store it away with nice fresh engine oil, water free gear oil, all moving external parts lubricated and moving easily. etc

If you are going to use it then service it in March as you say.
If not, do what Vic says.
