(I was well lubricated) the tide was up in Old Leigh where there are still lots of boats on their moorings so I stood by the sea wall watching them gently riding in the calm water. I would have given my right arm to be on one. It brought back memories of warm summer nights in a quiet anchorage ......

A few minutes of bliss watching them. I was transported.

Time for bed. Reality in the morning - I have cancelled my planned day sailing

Funnily enough I had exactly the same experience yesterday when looking at a picture of a boat in Holland.... a sudden longing for a long hot summer's evening at anchor........ sigh..... I am so looking forward to the start of next season!
