Preparing my boat for sale today, making it all look nice and fresh. Brand new fenders, ropes, flag etc all laid out in the fore peak berth on display (don't want the white ropes going green outside). Changed the coolant in anticipation of freezing weather.
Started the 30 year old BMC commander at the first turn of the key after 3 months dormancy. Ended up feeling very positive, priced to sell, spick and span, engine good and alls well with everything. Even had a viewer during the proceedings who is.......was, very interested.
Then I exercised the steering and snapped the 'steering upper link' on the Enfield outdrive!!
This pretty little demon of a boat is going to test me to the last. What on earth possessed me. Damn boats. I left the berth one time only last summer.
