The next time you go on holiday, you identify a window of opportunity where your Boat will be left unattneded for a coupla weeks - thats all, and folk do mention when they are going away, especially abroad,
Just randomly picking a boat in any marina - owner could turn up at any time.
But you are right, it doesnt matter where the profile is viewed from, same risk, however slight

I thought I was in the clear with many pages devoted to both famous Duncan's and Duncan's that wish to be considered famous. Likewise the boats name pulls up lists of Volkswagon sites etc.

And then I put the boats full name in - Phaeton the Faeton; 3 hits - profile plus 2 pics on arweb!

Ah well...........

Interestingly I was on another forum recently and the ponly other visitor was listed as "googlebot" - was it related to these issues?

well i couldnt find mine using my screen name, but i found it using "sealine Statesman" but i think it makes no diffrence as anyone from the forum can see it so any one can see it. Theres not alot on my profile any way so i have no problem, and i have a safe marina berth ;-) just in case.hehe

Now you know why I get really peed off at people on these forums 'insisting' or 'telling' new forumites to fill in their profiles if they want any help.

I posted my thoughts on the subject many moons ago, in detail, explaining how with very meagre information I can discover if you are a company director (and if so, what your company turnover is, where you live etc etc) and for anyone else, with also very meagre information, could probably email you an aerial photo of your house.

Never mind the more clever stuff ........ that takes more than 2 minutes in front of my computer!

Sadly, aerial photos of County Clare are not in the public domain to my knowledge- my comments only apply to the UK.

Have a look <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www1.getmapping.com/home.asp>here</A> for what you can do in the UK,(enter a postcode under 'Prints') once you've searched on electoral role for a town or even county (depends how unusual the name is)

Directory enquiries is often enough to pin someones address down to a few options

I googled my boat name- no personal details came up- but apart from a killer whale in florida with the same name, (nice)- my boat name seems to be a famous porno star- took me hours to get rid of unwanted(honest!) porno pop-ups (not so nice!)
