I couldn\'t believe it!!
Visited Penton Hook Marina last weekend and outside the sales office were a number of boats for sale including an Atlantis (big buggar) around 40 ft+ targa style boat. I assumed new, but possibly not.
I was appalled at how atrocious was the finish of the gel coat, highlighted as it was dark blue. It reminded me of some of the early GRP boats from the 1970's.
The day really deteriorated as we walked down to the sales pontoon and were confronted by one of the new, slab sided Sealines. It would have been a worthy entry in MBM's "ugly boat" competition.
Now I like some of the new designs, both inside and out, but externally I want a boat to be pleasing on the eye. I really struggle with designs like that Sealine.
Perhaps I'm just a boring old fart?! (answers on a postage stamp)
