and ready to try to get home.

Engineer recommended by a kind forumite has just been. Hows that for quick attention.....
cleaned the electric connection on the pre-filters, checked no water in the engine filter, switched off all batteries, worked out which fuel switch was for which engine....thanks Sealine the markings were behind the taps and we had to take the fridge out .....fuel switches are now marked port and starboard as relevant......closed starboard fuel and return, opened switch overs, started the engine.......yes she fired....

Now waiting for a weather window ....Thursday????.....to get me back home.

with the tow in, mooring fees and engineer so far its only €400.....cost of cleaning the tank to add .....might not bother with the insurance....

Anyone know a fuel/tank cleaning firm around Ipswich?

Thanks for all the kind messages....they HAVE kept me chin up in whats not been a very nice time....

And if i made any spelling or grammer mistakes....Feck off!

Hi Doug, sorry to hear about your mishap - maybe its an Ipswich thing? This is three (yep three!) of us waiting for the tide to come back in after drying out (deliberately of course /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif ) watching the Southend air show Sunday.....

happy days!!

Hey Doug

Sorry to hear of your travails - most of the time you get away with little cock ups like that and just live and learn without too much loss or distress. Every so often one comes along that sets you back on your heels and costs more than just a few bucks to set to rights. This looks like one of those. You just have to be philosophical about it - that's boating.

Hope you get back safely later in the week and in a few weeks I'm sure that you will find something in the saga to laugh about over a pint or three. Keep your chin up mate!

Dougie,
Very pleased to hear that you have managed to get sorted. As has already been said, in a couple of weeks this will be one of those tales that raises a laugh at the same time as being a salutary reminder to fellow boaters. I know that tales of our mishaps have kept people entertained and we laugh about them now, even though they were pretty bad at the time!!

Safe passage home.

I'm sure it was a horrible time but well done for keeping your chin up. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Still, at least it makes you a "Real Boater" now! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I should be....

particularly with some of the arrogant things said by Man U

but I have always had this thing for cheering for the "home side"

Managed to get R5 broadcast on laptop in Belgium /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
