Hi - New owner of Snapdragon 26 in the USA. No one knows about these boats and I cannot find a manual/brochure. There are some things I'd like to figure out but the Owner passed away and the children who sold the boat couldn't answer all of my questions. Anyone have an old manual online? My boat is a 1969 26' Snapdragon.

We'll be sailing on Lake Champlain in Vermont, USA. No ocean. I need to seal all through hulls due to toilet discharge regulations. Anyone convert to a porta potti?

Anyhow, I'd love to hear from other Snapdragon 26 Owners for advice and encouragement! Thanks!

Someone on here will give you contact details of Snapdragon and Mirage Owners Association. It is UK based - as boats were built on East Coast of England.

Hi and welcome,

I have sent you a message (flashing envelope) with details to contact the association.

Hi, can't help you specifically, but my dad has a Snapdragon 23 which he enjoys very much. Safe and easy sailor and prob ideal for your location. If you apply to aforementioned association you will get a booklet with lots of info about the marque and also several diagrams etc. Not sure why they can't put it on line. I think many Snapdragon owners in this country are of the senior generation and may not be net savvy - I know my Dad (72) is definately not!! Enjoy the boat.

Congratulations, and welcome to the forum! I have a Snappie 24, 1970 vintage.

You've got yourself a good, strong boat that won't win any races, but will look after you.

I wonder how she found her way to Lake Champlain!

Converting to a porta-potti should be as simple as removing the sea toilet and fixing a PP in its place, but could you fit a holding tank instead? There'd be plenty of room under the V-berth.

I have a 747 on inland lakes heres. the conversion done here is to fit a flexible 'bladder' type tank under the port locker, connected to the toilet. A pump-out outlet is fitted to the deck, and the waste is removed by sucking it out with a pump (fixed on shore, not provided by me) at designated sewerage disposal sites which are provided by the local council / marina.

This is standard I think on powerboats and big modern yachts.

I have a D26 and they are great boats. Owners club is a good source of info. What is your sail number, mine is 172 and is shown as having been exported to the USA, it made its way back, possibly by under its own steam.

Have replaced most items so if you need any inf then let me know.
