Hyphose, what an excellent company!!

Just came back from a shopping expedition in Poole for various items to go in my engine compartment, been on the hunt for hoses for my Centaur (exhaust, fuel and water) no surprises when i sat at my pc this morning and stupidly typed in the word 'marine' at the start of the search string; i got the usual plethora of online chandleries either offering only to sell minimum lengths of exhaust or alternatively charging a small fortune per linear metre for what i actually wanted (4m).

Google came up with a company called Hyphose which turns out to be a hose emporium for plant and heavy machinery industry however theres a marine section on their website and have to say the prices were fantastic! No minimum orders and every conceivable nut, bolt, fitting and clip you'd ever need to attach a hose to, well anything really. Came away with lloyds approved 50mm wet exhaust hose and abyc / lloyds approved fuel lines and braided water hose for my boat for the same cost of just over 3m of lloyds approved exhaust hose from a well known online chandlery, less delivery!

Nothing to do with the firm just a very pleased customer and once again looking for non-marine solutions to marine based problems i have found a great company, will be going back there as they stock all manner of fuel filters too.

Definately recommend!

I've used their Southampton branch quite a bit for fuel hose and fittings (since they're basically the same as hydraulic stuff). Didn't know they did specifically marine items like exhaust hose, so cheers for the heads up.

A great range of fittings and filter elements usually in stock for my Racor diesel filters...

BUT - What annoys me is that even though their online prices are great, in store you pay a lot more for things like their Racor elements.

Store don't appear to be able to sell for the same price as their online prices..

It was an absolute revelation finding them online this morning, almost ended up spending double what i ended up spending at a well known and recommended online supplier until i changed a few words in the search engine and Hyphose popped up, can't recommend Hyphose enough and the selection of fittings, just incredible!

Today i got my hoses and fittings, a flexible coupling from Lake Engineering and a Supersub 650 pump from Force 4 very pleased with the money saved:

i know pretty incredible eh? Although i don't think i'll have the room for it on the centaur, that said hopefully in the next couple of weeks i should have an engine back aboard after some seven odd years, surprised i didn't fit a well really?
