Does anyone know if the pontoons at Sibs are sponsored by the uk distributor or the manufacturers?

I ask because I've just walked past the Croydon showroom (one of three in England), and it's closed. Closed in a 'nearly empty, but with a couple of spa's left in the corner, untidy floor, no lights, big pile of unopened post inside the front door' kind of way.

Sods law that when I don't come on here for a few days, something like this comes up. Thanks to KevB & Jimmythebuilder for bringing this to my attention.

Due to the economic bullshit, we had to look for holes in the business, & our biggest one was the Croydon Showroom. It was by far the largest & most expensive in terms of overheads & was producing the least amount of business. Fortunately for us there was a 6 months break clause in the lease from when we took the premises over from one of our competitors some 3 years ago, so the decision was fairly easy.

Otherwise, there are few changes, we again sponsored the London Boat Show (for the 6th consecutive year) and will be sponsoring Southampton as usual in September.

In the midst of numerous competitors falling by the wayside, we will emerge with an intact reputation & potentially a larger market share once the dust has settled. This I believe will be considerably sooner that most expect, judging by the consumer confidence just seen at LIBS.

Thanks for that Jonathan. Didn't mean to cause any trouble and didn't realise you were a poster on here or would have PM'd.

I would have to agree that, without knowing your other locations, the Croydon one is hardly the most prestigious of locations, so once I saw that the website was still up and running OK I assumed it was just a sensible rationalisation of showrooms.

We recently bought one of your tubs as a result of visiting SIBS - well we probably wouldnt have bought one from you if we hadn't seen you at SIBS anyway.

Still building the room that its goint in though so havent yet filled it with water!!!

Anyway, keep up the good sponsorship.
