Remote Motor Control (RMC) - Elektronische aansturing of besturing voor boten | Hydronautica

Has anyone tried this controller? It is quite cheaper than Dockmate and Yacht controller.
Any experience? I know that most people you think that it isn't useful a controller but you need to agree that sometimes can make the life easier.
If you have a boat without 3rd aft controller even if you want to tight the ropes you need reverse or forward.
Also if you have a controller you can help your girl with ropes, anchor and fenders.
So I don't understand why 0.1% of boats have controller. haha

Because controlling a twin shaft + bow thruster boat is as easy as catching a ball .
Like sport it’s trainable but some need a little more time than others ......99.9% ( using your number ) learn !

I have a wired remote that controls engines & thrusters. It is very handy to use when mooring to allow quick adjustments whilst also helping my wife with the lines. Admittedly more useful on my flybridge boat than Porto's sportsboat

A friend of mine has one of these. He had to upgrade the receiver for better range but I'm guessing all new ones will have the better receiver. He has been happy with it otherwise. I've got a Yacht Controller and happy with it. A remote would be one of the first things I'd add to a new boat. They're really helpful when single handed.

Yacht controller is better than Hydronautica in use?
Finally you believe that hydronautia is enough good right?
Just for curiosity what boats do you have and your friend?
The boat that I want to add it is a Squadron 55.
I think that yacht controller has proportional for engines and bow-stern (if you have proportional bow stern).
Hydronautica has a more expensive edition with proportional but I don't think that it is necessary.

The plus with the Yacht Controller is the toggles so you can feel what you're doing without looking at the controller. The Hydronautica has rechargable batteries so that's a plus. Neither of ours have the proportional controls for engines or thrusters. On windy days I always dock from the helm in case I need more than idle power.

The friend with one has had it on his Sunseeker Manhattan 50 for about 4 years and is happy with it. Sounds like it'll be fine on your Squadron 55.

This is what you are talking about. It works together with the RMC. So it use bow stern and engines to lock the boat in the same position.
Yes it looks very useful! When you are trying to put fenders for example. The more gadgets you have the more easier is your life :)
But I feel that the most useful is the controller !!

What I want is one of those GPS Skyhook gizmos which keeps the boat in the same place ... anyone any experience of those?
