Hydrometer Testing

Hi,

Does anyone know how to test a Hydrometer. Might sound a daft question but, we have three and all give different readings, so we don't know which one to believe.

I wonder what the SG of water is at 20 deg C or whatever the scale is set at?

I always thought it was 1.000 at (specifically) 20degC.......but of course we were taught in a wide wide range of units, so I might have the temp wrong! ...

BTW, a Google or similar search will usually sort this sort of question out instanty.

Water Standard

SG of pure water at 4 degree Celsius has SG of one.
