just replaced my end caps and all the seals on the trim rams

the caps / seals do not leak
the leg stayed up on its own for two days b4 i used it
def no air in the reservoir, pump sounds normal

just had the boat out on the water

motoring with low revs the leg stays in place

over 800 revs the leg creeps, forward and reverse

i filled it up with this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003BPR83S/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

can it be the fluid, easiest to change

or do you recon its a misfitted seal ?

I had this issue and attempted a valve replacement but it was a waste of money.
A new trim pump solved the problem.

However to verify if it is the trim pump or the ram at fault you might swap over the trim pumps and see if the fault remains with the pump - if you have twin engines .

Quite a common issue. It will likely be the valves passing in the pump. I tried repairing years ago. Waste of time. New pump unit is the answer. Not cheap though. Go easy on the thread of the fittings though. Best of luck.

Well for starters that is not the recommended fluid. ATF Type G is what is stipulated in the Book of Words. Not to say that what you put in wont work. I dont know that, just it's not what is meant to be in.

You can get a new pump for the region of £200. I'll see if I can find the link.
