Brilliant if anyone with a HX870E can help with a simple question? An electronics servicer is attempting a repair on mine and I need to be able to tell if it is working properly.
If you turn the squelch all the way down on your unit, does it:
a) sound static continuously?
or
b) sound static for a second - go silent for a second - sound static for a second - go silent for a second - etc?
Knowing what the 'proper' behaviour is would help as I could let the service company tell if they if they are close to fixing the issue.
(The service company is not a marine specialist. No great shakes if I have to get a new handheld, but I really don't like throwing anything away, so wanted to give getting a fix a try.)
Thanks for any help!
Mark.
