Hutton winches

I'm looking for a pair of reasonably powerful, low geared single speed winches. A search of the net offers the Hutton 30-1st with 4.3:1 gearing for 583USD (+carriage, of course).

Anyone have knowledge of this company and its winches?

I have three arco winches on board including one electric powered. have had these for six years so far they are perfectly servicable. As they are chromed bronze they are quite heavy. The savings buying from Australia was a heck of a lot mainly because of the price of the electric winche compared to Lewmar. I would buy again.
