Has anyone sailed this stretch of water? The pilot book says it is notorious and gives a link to a Norwegian site which shows wave height but I can't find anywhere that references the effect at give wave heights.

Tomorrow is an onshore breeze with waves of 1.5m. Anywhere else that's not an issue but curious if anyone has sailed Hustadvika and has any feedback?

No personal knowledge but here's a piccy

Area 11 (63 ° 00'N 07 ° 00'E) (google translate with some corrections by me)
Hustadvika is one of the most dangerous waters along the Norwegian coast.
The coastline is completely unprotected to the sea and the waters are unclean with many Shallows (= many rocks). The depth varies mostly between 40 and 100 m.
Waves from SW to NW will be deflected over Buagrunnen and it will occur reflection center on the leeward side. With waves from N, Griptarane (discussed
Under area 10) lead to a refraction center at Norht Hustadvika.
When the waves meet the current, this leads to even more troubled sea. This
Is particularly noticeable in the waters between Kolbeinsflua and Bjørnsund. Falling
Sea gives outgoing currents from the Julsundet, and with wind and waves from NW the sea becomes very uneasy.
There has been reported fall waves in the entire area.

Area 10 (63 ° 12'N 07 ° 50'E) (google translate)
The waters extend from SW of Griphølen to Ytrefjorden S of Smøla.
The depth of the area is between about 100 and 150 m. In the western part lies
A shallow area called Griptarane.
There is a special wind from NW that creates rough sea in the waters. Waves
Will then come straight from the sea and turn east south of Smøla. By
Falling water flows to the waves and causes rough and cracking
sea. For waves from NW to SW, a refraction center will arise
Of Griptarane. Combined with tidal currents against W at falling sea
The conditions will be even worse. Steer burns are observed under these
relationship.
